Au nom du peuple Américain, je voudrais vous féliciter, peuple de Madagascar, pour avoir effectué votre devoir civique en allant voter pour votre futur président. Durant les 150 dernières années, les Etats-Unis se sont tenus aux côtés de Madagascar, en soutien à la démocratie. Nous nous réjouissons d’avoir observé une élection dépourvue de provocation et de violence. Dès qu’un candidat sera légitimement élu et aura prêté serment, il sera de votre devoir de tenir ce président nouvellement élu redevable pour assurer que l’état de droit et la bonne gouvernance soient respectés. Et, nous, les Etats-Unis, restons aux côtés de nos amis Malagasy, prêts à être votre partenaire pour les 150 prochaines années et plus.

On behalf of the people of the United States, I would like to congratulate you, the people of Madagascar, for celebrating your civic duty in voting for your future president. For the past 150 years, the United States has stood with Madagascar, in support of democracy.   We are pleased to have observed an election devoid of provocation and violence. Once a candidate is legitimately elected and sworn in, it will be your responsibility to hold the newly-elected President accountable for ensuring that the rule of law and good governance is respected. And we, the United States, remain standing beside our Malagasy friends, ready to partner with you for the next 150 years and beyond.
