Turkey World Humanitarian Summit 2016. Special Session about journalists in crisis situation

The first-ever World Humanitarian Summit will bring together governments, humanitarian organizations, people affected by humanitarian crises and new partners including the private sector to propose solutions to the most pressing challenges and set an agenda to keep humanitarian action fit for the future.

PROTECTING JOURNALISTS AND PROMOTING INDEPENDENT REPORTING IN CRISIS SITUATIONS

This Special Session will bring together leading media practitioners with experience of reporting in conflict zones and natural disasters to identify good practice in reporting on humanitarian crises, and to consider standards of reporting which is balanced, can help to mobilise global response and which prioritises the safety and security of their reporters as well as the people caught up in crises.
